Starwood offers SPG members dining perks

19 Apr 2012

Starwood Hotels and Resorts has announced an additional perk for its Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) loyalty programme members: discounts at more than 500 restaurants around the world and, at the same time, earning Starpoints when dining at these establishments.

This new facet of the loyalty programme has its own dedicated microsite to help with searches of participating eateries and bars, most of which are located near Starwood properties. Members will enjoy between 10 to 30 per cent off their meals and earn Starpoints simply by presenting their SPG membership card or number when asking for the bill. To qualify for points, however, the meal has to be US$10 or more and for a party of no more than eight people. The conversion rate for expenditure and number of points earned for Preferred level members is two points per eligible US dollar spent while for Gold and Platinum members it is three points per dollar spent.

Conveniently, the dedicated site is mobile-optimised so that SPG members can look up nearby restaurants when on the road.
