Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok has just opened the Business Lounge on its 15th floor this month. There are also 47 new non-smoking Business Rooms on the 12th, 14th and 15th floors, all of which enjoy access to the new lounge facility. Each of these units comes with an iDocking station, business stationary box, in-room welcome drink, complimentary light pressing (2 pieces a day), daily newspaper and late check-out until 4pm.
According to a spokesperson of the hotel, the move is part of a plan to attract more corporate travellers, who make up about 60 per cent of the clientele. There are five Courtyards in Thailand, with the other four in Hua Hin and Phuket. Being in Thailand's political and commercial capital, the Bangkok property naturally serves a more business-oriented crowd.
Offering a contemporary decor and a panoramic view of the city, the Business Lounge can seat 42 seats inside and eight more on its terrace. It has a wi-fi zone featuring the iPad, two iMac internet stations, LED TVs and a library, and offers all-day snacks and drinks. It is open everyday from 6am until midnight. Other perks provided here include use of daylight meeting rooms (for up to four or six people) for one hour per day, and private check-in and check-out.
The opening rate for the Business Rooms is THB4,800 (US$157) per night, excluding service charge and tax. It comes with full Business Lounge privileges. And for stays until April 30, a promotion is on to offer Business Room guests a four consecutive nights' stay for the price of three nights.
The 316-unit hotel is near Ratchadamri BTS skytrain station.
