The St Regis will open in Shenzhen by the end of this year, following hot on the heels of St Regis Tianjin and St Regis Sanya, which are scheduled to open at the end of this month and in November respectively (see story here).
The St Regis Shenzhen will be housed in the top 28 floors of the tallest building in Shenzhen – the 100-storey Kingkey tower – located close to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange and the Da Ju Yuan metro station.
The 297-room hotel is designed by Sir Terry Farrell, founder of the firm Farrells, which has designed the Beijing National Opera House, the Peak Tower in Hong Kong and the Maryleborne-Euston Road in London. The St Regis will be located on floors 73 to a 100, with the extensive F&B outlets taking the uppermost levels.
The hotel will consist of seven restaurants and bars, all located from the 95th floor up, starting with Tian Gong, a Chinese restaurant with private dining options, and Social, an all-day-dining international restaurant. On the 96th floor, guests will find the St Regis Bar and the Drawing Room, Elba Italian Restaurant will be on the 99th floor, followed by Decanter and a new concept whisky and cigar bar on the 100th floor.
Other amenities at the hotel include an indoor swimming pool and spa on the 75th floor and a total of 2,100 sqm of meeting and function space that includes a ballroom and eight separate, smaller function rooms.
Shenzhen has transformed itself from a sleepy fishing village to a major metropolitan business hub in southern China with its convenient connections to Hong Kong and brand new infrastructure.
