Cebu Pacific has placed orders for 37 new Airbus aircraft, which will hasten the budget carrier’s network expansion.
The carrier has acquired 30 Airbus A321neo and seven A320s, which are scheduled for delivery between 2015 and 2021.
Between the later half of this year and 2014, it will also take delivery of an additional 18 A320 aircraft on top of the 37 fresh orders, which will expand the carriers fleet of 32 aircraft to a total of 87 aircraft by 2021.
Lance Gokongwei, president and chief executive of Cebu Pacific, announced at a press conference that they would evenutally launch flights to Australia, India and Japan using the new aircraft.
Recently, the carrier launched its 24th international route between Busan and Manila, operated four times a week. The flight will depart Manila every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 1615, arriving in Busan at 2040. The return leg departs Busan at 2140 and arrives back in Manila at 0005.
