Best Western Plus arrives in Asia

22 Apr 2011

Best Western International has unveiled its first Best Western Plus branded property in Asia-Pacific – the Best Western Plus @ 20 Sukhumvit, Bangkok.

The new product tier is designed to fit between the mid-scale Best Western brand and the upscale Best Western Premier (see previous coverage of this here). According to Glenn de Souza, Best Western vice-president of operations Asia, this is a "premium economy" brand, “positioned toward a growing segment of trendy yet value-conscious travellers who are increasingly sophisticated.”

The 78-room Best Western Plus @ 20 Sukhumvit is located in the CBD of Bangkok, on Sukhumvit Road close to the high-end Emporium shopping mall and the Sukhumvit MRT station.

The value-for-money concept is seen in the hotel’s modern design and state-of-the-art in-room facilities, such as a 32-inch flatscreen TV, iPod docking station and free access to wifi internet. Other facilities include a rooftop Jacuzzi and two F&B outlets.

In addition to the opening of this new property, the hotel chain is also offering members of its Best Western Rewards loyalty programme a US$50 travel card, which can be used as cash, under the "Jump Start to Summer" promotion. Guests will receive the gift card after three separate stays, qualified by check-in and check-out, at any Best Western property worldwide between April 17 and June 5, 2011. The card can then be used to pay for stays on or before November 1, 2011.
