Great things have been wrought in the name of art, and Singapore’s renowned landmark, the Merlion statue in Merlion Park, will be transformed into a one-suite hotel for the Singapore Biennale 2011. Speaheading the initiative, which runs from March 13 to May 15 of this year, is the Singapore Art Museum.
Work on the project will begin on February 7 and be completed on March 9, and the public can view the process daily between 1000 and 1900. The "hotel" will be open for overnight stays from March 11 to May 15.
Booking details will be announced shortly.
The Merlion reverts to being a tourist attraction on May 16.
