Bmi announced yesterday (see online news January 31) that it will commence flights from Heathrow to Bergen, Stavanger, Casablanca and Marrakech from the start of April, adding to recently announced services from Heathrow and Manchester to Basel (see online news January 20).
To celebrate the new services the carrier is offering double miles for its Diamond Club members on the new routes departing Heathrow, valid for travel between April 1 and May 31.
In an email to its Diamond Club members Bmi expressed regret for it decision to scrap flights between London and Glasgow (see online news January 31), saying that the “The recently announced increases by BAA in domestic passenger charges at London Heathrow by more than 50 per cent effective April 1, 2011, will make the already loss making route between London Heathrow and Glasgow unsustainable for us”.
The carrier added that “Bmi Regional will continue to offer daily flights from Glasgow to Copenhagen and two flights a day from Glasgow to Leeds Bradford”.
