British Airways (BA) will bring flights between London Heathrow and Shanghai permanently to six a week, starting summer of 2011.
Currently, service increases to this commercial hub is done on a seasonal basis (see news).
Ashley Cowen, BA Asia-Pacific commercial manager, said the move reflected the airline’s continued investment in the Chinese market as well as healthy travel demand.
Beijing is also proving to be lucrative for the carrier, which has been flying to China for 30 years this year. It recently upped passenger capacity to the Chinese capital by 26 percent and plans to add more frequencies.
