Guernsey gains links to Hanover and Dusseldorf

Air Berlin is to launch scheduled services from the Channel Island to the German cities of Hanover and Dusseldorf for the summer 2011 season.

There are currently no direct scheduled services from Germany to Guernsey, although Eurowings does offer a summer charter service according to the Guernsey airport website.

The new Air Berlin flights to Hanover start on April 16 and run until September 24, with services to Dusseldorf running from May 21-September 10.

Weekly flight AB2946 will depart Dusseldorf on Saturdays at 1445, arriving in Guernsey at 1540, returning as AB2947 at 1615 and landing back in Dusseldorf at 1900.

The service between Hanover and Guernsey (also operating on Saturdays) will depart as AB2942 at 1040, landing in Guernsey at 1150, with the return leg AB2943 leaving Guernsey at 1225, stopping off in Jersey and landing back in Hanover at 1640.

Tickets are now on sale for the new routes, with lead-in fares of €99 one-way.

  • For Hanover to Guernsey and return service, the times or place names do not appear to be correct. If the aircraft starts in Hanover then it is not going to leave Hanover at 1225 or arrive back in Guernsey at 1640.

  • Thanks for pointing this out FrequentTraveller – i had managed to mix up the departure and arrival points for the return leg. I have now amended this in the copy.
