Turkish Airlines offers chef-prepared meals on Hong Kong service

17 Oct 2010

Turkish Airlines (THY) has introduced on its Istanbul-Hongkong-Istanbul route, the "Flying Chef", featuring chefs preparing special onboard meals for first and business class passengers.

Customers on these cabins can expect to interact with the chefs as they explain the inflight menu and inspiration behind the dishes.

The initiative was initially rolled out on TK's Istanbul-New York flights.

“We designed this catering concept with a high-quality, customer-oriented experience in mind,” said Huseyin Ceyhan, THY's director in Hong Kong. "It shows our strong commitment to constantly bringing fresh experiences to our customers and maintaining the excellent quality of our award-winning catering service."

The service is not a new one. The long-gone Australian Airlines had a chef on board on selected routes and so did Gulf Air some years ago.
