THAI Airways International (THAI) will begin daily flights between Bangkok and Haneda Airport (Tokyo International Airport) from October 31, 2010. It joins a growing list of international carriers, among them Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines, that have bagged slots at the refreshed facility.
THAI's new service, utilising a two-class Airbus A340-500, will depart from Bangkok at 1450 and arrive in Tokyo at 2230. The return flight will depart from Haneda Airport at 0020 and arrive in Bangkok at 0520. Currently, THAI operates four daily flights to Narita International Airport.
Haneda Airport, Japan's first international air hub, has been expanding recently with a new third terminal and fourth runway. Unlike Narita Airport, it has the added benefit of being close to the city’s centre.
