Gold and Platinum members of the Marriott Rewards scheme will soon be able to enjoy free internet access at all Marriott-branded properties, extending the benefit previously available in South and North America.
The expansion of the benefit to all JW Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Renaissance Hotels and The Autograph Collection properties worldwide will take effect on January 7, 2011, and follows similar moves by rival hotel groups including Hilton (see online news August 3) and Starwood (see online news February 24).
Members reach Gold status within the Marriott Rewards scheme by staying 50 nights a year, and Platinum after 75 nights. Other benefits of elite status include room upgrades, bonus points, and club lounge access.
