Starwood to offer free internet to Platinum SPG members
Published: 24/02/2010 - Filed under: News »
From March 1 Platinum members of Starwood’s SPG loyalty scheme will benefit from free internet access at over 940 participating properties worldwide.
As flagged up on our forum earlier today, the new benefit means in-room internet access charges will be removed from Platinum guests’ final hotel bills.
Note that the benefit does not stretch to internet access in meeting rooms or public areas, and is limited to the guestroom occupied by the Platinum member. It is also not applicable when the reservation is pre-paid and booked through a third party.
The news is just one of several recent announcements by hotels regarding internet access – Best Western is now offering free internet access at its UK properties, and City Inn has increased the speed of its internet connection at its six UK hotels.
