Accor has planted its third hotel in Hyderabad, Mercure Hyderabad Abids. Sister properties are the Novotel Airport Hotel and Novotel Convention Centre
The 82-room Mercure is located in Abids, the city’s oldest and most famous commercial district. Corporate amenities include several meeting rooms and a banquet hall for 600 people, a 24-hour fitness centre and the Abids Bistro. The chain also added the Mercure Lavasa in a resort destination near emerging hub, Pune.
Previously, Accor CEO Giles Pelisson said they expected to roll out 90 hotels in all categories by 2015. The French chain has company in this goal (see news), with most of the major hotel brands planning their own expansion in the subcontinent.
Hyderabad expects to see more hotel launches, including another Accor property, Formule 1, two Hyatts (Park Hyatt and Hyatt Place) and Leela Palace Kempinski, although dates have still to be confirmed.
