Marriott, Starwood run new points promotions

5 Feb 2010

Two leading hotel chains are giving members of their loyalty programmes more reasons to fly and book.

Marriott Rewards MegaMiles promotion is tripling their air miles for stays until April 30, 2010. Members who usually earn 400 miles per stay will now earn 1,200 miles during the promotion period. Redemption begins with the second stay at any of the 3,100 hotels under the nine Marriott brands.

Partner air miles programmes include American Airlines AAdvantage, British Airways Executive Club, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, JAL Mileage Bank, Singapore Airlines Krisflyer and United Airlines Mileage Plus.

Nights spent in any of Starwood's participating properties allow Starwood Preferred Guest members the chance to multiply the Starpoints earned. One or two nights allows members to double their earnings. With a three-night stay, members triple the amount of Starpoints and a four-night stay quadruples the points earned.

To qualify for this promotion, guests have to register for membership by March 31, 2010. Promotion ends April 15, 2010.
