Passengers in China who will be flying on Continental Airlines’ new Shanghai-New York route will be able to check in online when the new service is launched on March 26.
A spokesman said that the airline expects to introduce the same e-services that are now available on its Beijing-New York service.
“The airline will implement these e-services on a phase by phase basis,” she said, adding the airline is in talks with officials at the Shanghai Pudong airport for the installation of self-check in kiosks.
Continental will operate a daily non-stop flight between Shanghai and New York with a Boeing 777-200 aircraft. Flight CO86 will depart Shanghai at 3:45 pm, arriving in Newark Liberty International Airport in the evening of the same day at 6:20 pm. The return flight CO87 will depart Newark Liberty International Airport at 11:20 am and will arrive in Shanghai mid-afternoon of the following day at 1:45 pm.
Flight times will be approximately 14 hours and 30 minutes in each direction.
The flight will be timed to provide convenient roundtrip connections at Continental’s New York hub to more than 60 other cities throughout the US and Canada.
