Lufthansa is busy changing flight timings on the London City (LCY) to Frankfurt route. The new schedules provide the German national airline with up to four daily flights linking two of the world’s most important financial centres.
They will allow UK-originating passengers a longer business day in Germany and offer more opportunities to make connections at Lufthansa’s main hub for both short and long-haul destinations.
The first Lufthansa flight now departs at 0715, arriving in Frankfurt at 0945. It provides an earlier arrival time (on the LCY-Frankfurt route) than British Airways does.
In the return direction, a new mid-afternoon service now bridges the gap between the existing late morning and late afternoon flights. It’s an ideal service for executives using flexible tickets and whose meetings finish earlier than expected.
But not everything in the garden is perfect. To make way for the new schedules, two less busy services have been scrapped – the previous late morning service from Frankfurt and the early afternoon return from LCY.
Lufthansa now has a later afternoon flight from LCY at 1655. This is good news for passengers making connections at Frankfurt, as this service arrives at 1925, which is ideal for flight transfers further afield.
The new timings are:
LH4803 depart LCY 0715 arrive Frankfurt 0945
LH4801 depart LCY 0910 arrive Frankfurt 1140
LH4809 depart LCY 1655 arrive Frankfurt 1925
LH4811 depart LCY 1835 arrive Frankfurt 2105
LH4802 depart Frankfurt 0610 arrive LCY 0645
LH4800 depart Frankfurt 0800 arrive LCY 0840
LH4808 depart Frankfurt 1545 arrive LCY 1625
LH4810 depart Frankfurt 1730 arrive LCY 1805
