MarcusGBParticipantI tend to depart from Europe for my long haul flights now, using LCY if possible for Amsterdam or Dublin, and LHR for Paris.
Last flights latest:
1. KLM – AMS-KUL – HKT (for a few days break after Biz).2. CDG – AUH – SYD Etihad Business Class. 2 nights in AUH from EY)
3. SYD – AUH – CDG Etihad First. (2 nights in AUH complimentary).
4. LCY – Rotterdam (Cityjet – URGH!)
5. CDG-HKG and on to BKK (Air France A380, and Thai Airways A380.)
I found KLM annoying mix of old and new business planes and got one very old version on a 772 and a defective 773!.
Etihad were superb on 773-ER and A346 mis of Business and First. Looking forwards to their A380 service to SYD soon.
Air France’s A380 was cramped, service belligerent at best, meals awful, and i would not use them again.
I took Thai after a couple of days in HKG – BKK A380. Was excellent 1-2-1 seating, service superb, spacious, relaxed, and the meal was better for a 2.5 hr flight than AF 12 hr one.
I would be very happy to use Thai from LHR that has a Biz flat seat. Why do MH say they have “Flat seats” when they are not, they fall at the feet panel???
