For such a busy airport the drop off worked well and there always seemed plenty of space for both pick ups and drop offs in the same area. Nobody seemed to hang around very long. Then they made an area right at the end for valet parking / meet and greet., now it is necessary to block off more and push people into the car parks. Why ?
