Underground map without the Thames is unthinkable, what would the Paris Metro map be like without the Seine?

The omission of the fare zones will probably only affect a few as most travellers are on travelcards or Oyster and those without usually just buy a ticket from A to B.

I agree with flyingbunny the little notes detract from the map

FOR GODS SAKE – if you don’t like the post, then don’t comment on it.

I am sick to death of reading a perfectly relevant and decent post and then finding 10 messages why you think VK is full of crap.

IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, THEN YOU MOVE ON AND READ SOMETHING ELSE! Don’t spoil it for everyone else. Its the internet and everyone has a choice.

Its nothing to do with who likes BA or what political party your support – read and contribute and if you don’t like it – then just choose to read something else.

I for one find the vast majority of VK posting useful and informative – and for those I don’t, I just read something else.

Shocked to find such comment, but not surprised. I think the Moderator should enforce adherence to the thread subject. Presumably if someone is beyond the pale, then a substantiated request for deletion can be made. Don’t upset VK or he’ll call BA and get your flight cancelled.

Thoughts on The Map – nothing would enhance it more than a nice through connection from ECML to Ebbsfleet, so we can get through without having to worry where the Thames should be!

    A-O-R.

You have called VK a Troll on a range of other posts. A troll, as I understand it, is someone who wilfully attempts to disrupt a community or provoke reactions, controversy or attention.

The last thing VK is is a Troll. We may not agree with him – and I certainly don’t on many topics – but, as others have said, this Forum is richer for him (or her) being here. I doubt whether any of us have anything personal against VK (I know I don’t) and most of us have found him/her a source of extremely useful information over many years. And yes, many of us have also had spats with him/her too, But that’s the nature of this Forum.

Furthermore, most of the ‘banter’ on here is (to a greater or lesser extent) light-hearted.

You, on the other hand, have obviously just searched through old posts and topics to dust off long-forgotten disputes, reignite old arguments for your own satisfaction, and to stir things up for the sake of it.

Furthermore, in the brief time you have been on here you’ve called people “liars” and “racists.”

You, Sir, are the Troll, not VK.

Old Age seems to be a long lost relative of VK, except far grumpier, far ruder and far more cantankerous. Every family has them. VK is like the wise old grandfather, speaks wisdom, but sometimes directs comments without thought. Old Age on the other hand is more like the “ugly duckling” the one that feels left out and has to push and shove to be heard and taken notice of. He makes accusations based on illegitimate thoughts and is probably somebody who gets kicks out of “mouthing off” using a name that keeps him annonymous. Like I said, every forum and family has people like this – just accept that Old Age is such a person.

Can I suggest we erect – viagra like – a Hadrian’s Wall and ignore AOR. I think he is only here to cause trouble. I doubt we are related, he didn’t send me a birthday card this year.

I meanwhile have enjoyed a bracing walk around the grounds and a bonfire, and with Sunday lunch nearing completion in the Kitchen, it is time I joined the others for drinks.

Bollinger these days, as in a recession Krug is slightly over the top.

Good idea VK – alas things could get a bit stiff!

Go and enjoy your beef and Yorkshire pud and dont forget to either do or help Mr OR Mrs VK with the washing up!

I have a feeling gents that AOR is a reincarnation of a certain person that used to cause troble on these forums.

Alas, Nigel, I suspect that you are correct.

Rest assured in your hammocks, lads, for your fears are unfounded.

So the character assassination can cease, and the thread can return to subject with my original query, which related to the relative location of Ebbsfleet and how to get there.

Perhaps, the Volcanic ash could, travel sidewards, not just up close down the tube as well, then we can colour the Thames dirty grey, its true colour, & it won’t be so easy to miss it being on the map?

But then again most for us who use it come out with Black polluted Noses anyhow, so it may have been happening already for years?!!!

I agree to keep it on the map, for visitors to London, & fo those of us in the North & East to see how much transport we get compared to the south of London!
