China Southern in talks with BA to form a JVBack to Forum
Report from Bloomberg
It’s a logical development for both carriers should the JV go ahead. It will provide BA with better coverage of mainland China and the same for CZ with the UK and mainland Europe. It will enable BA to better compete with LH’s JV with CA.
LH/CX already operate code-sharing between Europe and Asia Pacific. And each carrier belongs to a different alliance.
While as Business Traveller reported almost two years ago LH has entered into a JV and CA.

Has anyone any idea what this would do to CZ’s membership of Skyteam? I can’t see why they would give this up, especially in the wake of Brexit and its uncertainty in terms of access of British carriers to major markets via the UK.15 Jul 2018
At the time I started a thread only CZ was prepared to comment.
But today I see trade publication ATW reports that Willy Walsh says BA is having “some recent discussions with China Southern.”
Not sure what Skyteam/KLM must be thinking. KLM has had a JV with CZ for some time already. And it was recently extended.
