I was on the BA 065 last Monday coming down to NBO. Whilst I don’t normally drink the stuff, in the interests of my comrades on this site, I asked for a Kir Royale, notwithstanding the fact that it was not an option on the drinks menu. This request was met with a “what’s that?” before the crew member went away to ask the CSD, or whatever they are called nowadays. He returned to tell me that Kir Royales have been removed as a Drinks option but if I was “desperate” for this going forward, I should feel free to bring on my own bottle of Kir and the crew would be happy to make up a Kir Royale. So, now you know!

Maybe I am getting old, but this use of the word “desperate” is quite condescending. They could have merely offered to make you one with your bottle of cassis.

Perhaps confirming the crew member should not be working in a premium cabin?

A bit of knowledge and poise would be appreciated.
