BA to Order More 77Ws, Defer 787s

    The presentation doesn’t indicate any A318 orders. It says that there are currently 2 in the fleet and that in 2015 there will still be 2 in the fleet.

    A shame really.

    Thats stupid the 318’s will of been in service for close to 6 years and will be coming up for D-checks they cant riun the service on one plane unless they will be cutting back on the route to just one flight a day.

    If Virgin joins Star, wouldn’t they also want to move out of T3 into T2 beside” their new family….

    After all VS is the UK’s 2nd flag carrier and should be allowed to have a level playing field when it comes to facilities !

    The point about the A318s is a good one.

    While they aren’t up for retirement soon, BA should expand the long haul offering from LCY if they wish to attract more high value travellers. The CSeries in my view, is perfect for this, able to do JFK non-stop, as well as other important destinations like Dubai or Tel Aviv thanks to great range and efficiency. It was designed with LCY in mind.

    BA would be unwise to miss this great opportunity.
