BA proposes deal to buy BMI

    I think it inappropriate that VS are complaining about the amount of slots BA/BMI could have if they have substantially chosen to reduce the slots they themselves operate. If they wanted too fly to ABC and XYZ they could have done so, but chose not to, in order to lease these slots out.

    I like VS and wish them well, and think UK is better off with the competition, but I think their whinging is out of order.They say the Scottish routes would suffer, then why dont they do that themselves!

    IMHO the longer the buyout takes, the more it harms UK PLC and BMI employees.

    Looking at what has happened in US domestic aviation, I wonder if the future of domestic air travel isn’t Lo Cost. Either with airlines such as Easyjet or a BA subsidiary under a different brand offering no frills, as per the shuttle but with Lo Cost pricing.
