KM had heard there is currently shortage of BA pilots (sickness; changes to bidding process; swinging the lead – take your choice).
If shortage of 747 pilots then taking a short haul configured 767 is one of their options. Passengers rightly get ticked off though as no F and CW seating is basic short haul.
They get even more ticked off when the 767 has to return to stand with tech issues.
Happens when everything is cut so finely there is negligible back-up when the process is stressed.
