Hello Swissdiver
Correct. And this is the point I made in a recent news piece. Airlines are finding that they can accommodate almost as many passengers in a B777-300ER as they can in an A380. And the B777-300ER is 25 pc cheaper to purchase (based on list prices) and much cheaper to operate (two engines as against four) both in the air and on the ground (less elaborate airport facilities needed).
Of course, the drawback is that to accommodate 400 + passengers on a B777-300ER involves a tighter seating configuration so the flying experience is inferior.
