American Airlines will offer the first-ever service between Dallas DFW and Brisbane BNE, Australia, starting in October.

This new service, launching from American’s largest hub, will enable one-stop connections to BNE from more than 100 destinations across the United States that currently require at least two stops.

Brisbane and the state of Queensland are known for scenic coastlines, world-famous zoos, a vibrant cultural scene and 280 days of sun every year.

When American’s seasonal service begins, it will be the longest nonstop flight in the airline’s network.

American will fly its latest, premium-heavy Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to BNE.

These newly designed 787-9s feature 51 Flagship Suite® 1-2-1-configured seats with privacy doors, and 32 2-3-2-configured premium economy seats.

Next winter, the joint business between American and Qanta will offer services from Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), New York (JFK) and Vancouver, Canada (YVR), to four major gateways in Australia and New Zealand: Auckland (AKL), Brisbane (BNE), Melbourne (MEL), and Sydney (SYD).

Separately, starting 27 October, American will launch service between Dallas DFW and Rio de Janeiro GIG. Joining service from Miami (MIA) and expanded service from New York (JFK), American will offer up to four daily flights for customers to visit Rio. Next winter, American says it will offer more daily flights to GIG from the U.S. than all other airlines combined.

American will also return service between DFW and Kona in Hawaii from 27 October. Operating alongside service to Honolulu (HNL) and expanded service to Kahului (OGG), customers will have up to five daily flights to Hawaii from DFW to choose from.
