Marriott International has signed an agreement with DYC Turizm Isletmecilik TIC A.Ş. to open an Autograph Collection Hotel in Uludağ, Türkiye.

Scheduled to open in Q4 2024, the resort will be situated in the Uludağ Ski Centre within the Uludağ Mountain region.

Featuring ski-in and ski-out access, the Autograph Collection Hotel will offer views over the ski slopes of the Uludağ Mountain.

Plans for the hotel include five chalet-style buildings which will feature 92 rooms, including two- and three-bedroom suites.

The resort will feature a variety of recreational and entertainment offerings including multiple dining venues, a spa and wellness center, a swimming pool, a business centre, meeting facilities, retail space and a kids’ club.

When the resort opens later this year, guests will be able to travel to the property by a 20-minute cable car ride or a 45-minute drive from Bursa.

Located in the heart of Turkiye’s Bursa province, Uludağ Mountain is a high-end ski destination whose snow-covered slopes attract winter sports enthusiasts. During summer, it also serves as a destination for hikers and mountain bikers. Nearby villages showcase traditional Turkish cuisine and crafts.

Çetin Ceylan, chairman, DYC Turizm said, “In the recent past, we have successfully established various businesses in Bursa and nationally. Uludağ distinguishes itself not only with winter tourism but also with its potential to offer health, gastronomy, art, and other diverse travel experiences across every season. Our primary objective with Marriott International and the Autograph Collection brand is to curate a destination that offers distinctive travel experiences in the region extending beyond mountain tourism.”

Globally, Autograph Collection’s portfolio includes more than 290 hotels.

Jerome Briet, chief development officer, Europe Middle East and Africa, Marriott International, said, “We are thrilled to work with DYC Turizm Isletmecilik TIC A.Ş. to introduce Autograph Collection Hotels to a captivating destination for global travellers to discover in Türkiye. With its distinct sense of locality, Uludağ is a perfect fit for the brand which features carefully selected hotels that promote originality. The signing is also in line with Marriott International’s commitment to expand its portfolio in Türkiye.”

In a major expansion within the country, last year, Marriott announced the signing of 13 deals for properties, comprising more than 2,000 rooms. At the time of that signing, Marriott said that it had a portfolio of 48 properties and nearly 8,000 rooms across 21 brands within the country. These brands include the likes of St. Regis Hotels and Resorts, The Ritz-Carlton, W Hotels, The Luxury Collection, EDITION, and JW Marriott, among others.
