Saudi low-cost carrier flynas recently launched direct flights from Jeddah to two destinations.

It has added Mumbai in India, and Asmara in Eritrea to its expanding network of international destinations.

Starting Monday, 15 January, flynas began operating two weekly direct flights to Mumbai on Mondays and Wednesdays.

XY609 departs from Jeddah at 7.50pm arriving in Mumbai the following day at 3.05am. XY610 then leaves from Mumbai at 4.20am and lands back in Jeddah at 7.45am.

From Wednesday, 17 January, it started operating two weekly direct flights on Wednesdays and Sundays to Asmara.

XY693 leaves Jeddah at 7.05am and lands in Asmara at 8.30am. The return flight, XY694, departs from Asmara at 9.30am and arrives in Jeddah at 11am.

The airline aims to connect more than 70 domestic and international destinations with in excess of 1,500 weekly, with the aim to reach 165 domestic and international destinations, in line with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030.

Over the last few months, flynas has accelerated the growth of its routes from Jeddah. In August, it commenced flights from Osh, the second-largest city in Kyrgyzstan, to Jeddah. Subsequently, the following month, it launched flights from Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, to King Abdulaziz International airport in Jeddah.

Additionally, it introduced two weekly direct flights between Jeddah and Almaty from 2 September. On 7 November, it began a direct weekly flight between Jeddah and another destination in Türkiye – Ankara.

Saudi Arabia’s National Aviation Strategy aims to enable national air carriers to connect the kingdom to 250 international destinations and to accommodate 330 million passengers and host 100 million tourists yearly by 2030.
