Vistara, the Singapore Airlines (SIA) joint venture carrier from India, will launch a five-weekly Mumbai-Paris CDG route from 28 March.
This will be the airline’s second route to Paris, complementing its Delhi-CDG operations, which also currently see five flights a week.
This will be Vistara’s third long-haul route from Mumbai following London and Frankfurt.
As with its other European routes, Vistara will deploy a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on Mumbai-Paris.
The airline’s Dreamliners feature 30 lie-flat business class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, as well as premium economy and economy class seating.
On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, UK23 will depart Mumbai at 1405 for an arrival into Paris at 2010. The return UK24 service will leave CDG at 2210 for an arrival back into Mumbai at 1035 the following morning.
Introductory fares from Paris to Mumbai, return, start at EUR1,999 for business class, EUR999 for premium economy and EUR499 for economy class service, Vistara says.
“We are delighted to announce direct connectivity between Mumbai and Paris, our sixth route to Europe. The addition of this much-awaited connection is in line with our strategy to position Mumbai as a vital hub for international travel,” notes Vistara chief executive officer, Vinod Kannan.
Vistara, a 51:49 joint venture between India’s Tata Sons and SIA, currently has a fleet of 67 aircraft, including 51 Airbus A320 neo, 10 Airbus A321s, and six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The carrier is expected to be folded into a rehabilitated Air India in due course under joint Tata ownership.
