Customers flying on Air France’s key Paris CDG-New York JFK route may note a change to the flight numbers from next week.
The carrier has decided to reassign current flights AF015 (JFK to CDG) and AF022 (CDG to JFK) as AF001 and AF002 respectively.
The iconic flight numbers were previously assigned to Concorde services until the supersonic aircraft was retired in 2003.
The move takes effect from 29 October, as part of Air France’s 90th anniversary celebrations.

British Airways previously assigned its all-business class London City-New York JFK route (which was cancelled in 2020) with the iconic BA001 and BA002 flight numbers.
The news was announced as Air France outlined plans to fly to a total of 167 destinations in 79 countries this winter, including 84 long-haul destinations.
As previously reported, the airline will launch new routes to Raleigh-Durham and Abu Dhabi this winter, contributing to long-haul capacity levels reaching 98 per cent of 2019 levels in terms of available seat kilometres.
Long-haul will account for just over half (84) of the carrier’s destinations over the winter season, with 212 flights to 20 destinations in the US, Canada and Mexico, and a 20 per cent increase in capacities to North America compared to 2019.
Services to Asia remain below 2019 levels, but will be up 60 per cent compared to winter 2022-2023, with daily flights to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, and 16 flights per week to Tokyo’s two airports of Narita and Haneda.
