FlyArystan, Kazakhstan’s low-cost airline, has welcomed the latest Airbus A320 neo aircraft to its fast-growing fleet.
This delivery marked the 17th aircraft for the Air Astana subsidiary, and the sixth brand-new A320 neo delivered directly from the Airbus halls to FlyArystan.
FlyArystan has quickly grown its network since it operated its first flight in May 2019 and currently operates more than 90 daily flights.
The carrier is looking to deepen its Central Asia network while at the same time expanding deeper into China, India, and the Caucasus. Regular charters to Red Sea resorts in Egypt are on offer, too.
FlyArystan earlier this year launched routes from the Kazakh capital Astana to destinations including Ankara, Baku, Tashkent and Urumqi. It also launched routes to Delhi and Kutaisi from Almaty and Shymkent.
Going forward, the Air Astana offshoot is exploring routes from Almaty deeper into China, including Chongqing and Xian, as well as down to the Arabian Sea in Karachi and further down the Indian coast to Goa.
“FlyArystan is committed to keeping the cost of travel low and introducing more people to air-travel. From our launch flight in May 2019 to August 2023 the airline has carried more than 11 million passengers. Since 2019 the “FlyArystan effect” has reduced fares in Kazakhstan by 50 per cent in real terms while the overall demand for air-travel increased by over 300 per cent. The increase of the aircraft fleet contributes to the expansion of the route network and makes it possible to operate more flights at affordable fares,” the airline says.
“Since October of last year, when we received our first new Airbus A320 (named Leo), we have embarked on an aggressive expansion plan. We have grown the number of flights to over 90 daily flights and expanded into more international destinations.
FlyArystan is the largest domestic airline in Kazakhstan while our route network includes international routes to Georgia, Turkey, India, Azerbaijan, UAE, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The arrival of the 17th aircraft increases FlyArystan’s ability to enlarge our reach not only within Kazakhstan but also across Central Asia. FlyArystan’s current fleet will grow by one more A320 by the end of 2023 when we will operate 18 aircraft”, said Adrian Hamilton-Manns, managing director FlyArystan.
