Hainan Airlines will launch a third nonstop route to Italy, this time linking Shenzhen with Milan’s Malpensa airport three times a week from 20 September.

Shenzhen-Milan will complement Hainan’s Shenzhen-Rome and Chongqing-Rome flights.

Also, this will be Hainan’s sixth intercontinental route from Shenzhen.

Hainan will fly Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft between Shenzhen and Milan.

Hainan’s 787-9s come in various configurations, although the aircraft currently scheduled on Shenzhen-Milan come in a two-class configuration with 30 seats in the 1-2-1 business cabin and 262 seats in economy in a 3-3-3 layout.

Shenzhen-Milan will operate three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Departures from Shenzhen are at 0205, arriving at Malpensa airport at 0855. The returns leave Milan at 1055 for a scheduled arrival back into Shenzhen at 0500 the following day.

Separately, Star Alliance member Air China also has an interesting new route to Milan, linking Malpensa with the Chinese city of Wenzhou three times a week with Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

The Air China Wenzhou-Milan flights operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Wenzhou is a prefecture-level city in southeastern Zhejiang province, south of Hangzhou and Ningbo, north of Fuzhou.
