Cathay Pacific has unveiled a promotional video for its new ‘Aria’ business class suite which will debut on the carrier’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft from next year.
The teaser video shows design features including a sliding privacy door and what appears to be wireless device charging capabilities, as well as several storage spaces.
No details have been released about the seat’s dimensions or configuration – indeed the only line accompanying the video is “Savour the quiet luxury of Aria in our redesigned Boeing 777-300ER cabins, ready for departure in Q2 2024”.
Cathay has around 40 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in its fleet, configured in either a three-class economy, premium economy and business class or four-class (including first class) layout.
Again aside from the 2024 launch date there are no further details on the rollout plans for the new seat.
The news comes as the airline continues its recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic. Cathay carried carried a total of 1,548,571 passengers in June, a 931.9 per cent increase on the same period in 2022.
Last month the group provided an update on its first-half 2023 financial performance, with an expected consolidated profit of approximately HK$4.0-4.5 billion for the first half of the year.
