KLM is increasing operations from Newcastle International airport to Amsterdam Schiphol later this year.

The Dutch carrier will operate five flights per day between Newcastle and Amsterdam from 29 October 2023, with a total of up to 35 flights per week.

Richard Knight, COO at Newcastle International airport, said:

“The route between Newcastle, Amsterdam and beyond with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has been a long-standing connection for the North East and it is extremely important to the region’s business and leisure passengers.”

“We are delighted that, thanks to strong inbound and outbound demand, the airline has chosen to invest more flights into Newcastle International Airport which give our passengers even more options when looking to travel to Amsterdam as well as further afield.”

Fahmi Mahjoub, Air France and KLM General Manager (UK & Ireland), added:

“With the addition of the extra service to Amsterdam, KLM is pushing its commitment to passengers in Newcastle and the rest of the Tyne and Wear region even further. We are looking forward with great pleasure to carrying even more leisure and business passengers from Newcastle International airport to Amsterdam or to one of the many worldwide destinations on the KLM network, via Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.”
