Singapore Airlines has partnered with luggage collection service AirPortr at Heathrow Terminal 2.

Customers living within the M25 perimeter can now have their luggage collected from their doorstep and transferred to Heathrow T2, where it will be checked in. Passengers can then bypass the baggage drop at the airport and head straight for security.

The service starts from £28 for one bag pickup from central London (or £33 for two) and the service area is set to cover more locations after the summer period.

Customers can book a collection time slot up until 24 hours before departure via the AirPortr website. Once they have checked in online, the luggage will be collected from the customer’s address (which can be a home, hotel or office) and vetted drivers will check all boarding passes and passports.

The luggage will then be security-sealed and photographed. Once transferred to the airport, the luggage is checked in and the customer will receive a text notification with digital IATA luggage receipts.

SWISS has also partnered with AirPortr for airports in Geneva and Zurich, with a free-of-charge promotion until the end of August.
