IHG has unveiled a £750,000 refurbishment of the Holiday Inn London Sutton’s public spaces.
The hotel now features the brand’s Open Lobby concept, with key features including a dining space booths, high and low table options, a living room style Media Lounge with seating, games, magazines and an E-Bar offering power points and wireless printing.
Holiday Inn has gradually been rolling out the Open Lobby design across its portfolio – details of which properties offer the concept can be seen here.
In addition the hotel has created 23 new premium bedrooms by converting former function space, and a new meeting room has been added on the ground floor.
Located off the top of Sutton High Street close to the town’s rail station, the Holiday Inn London Sutton first opened in the early 1990s.
I grew up nearby and have frequented the hotel many times for everything from school graduation parties to NCT classes, although I have never actually stayed there, and will aim to review the property next time I am in town.
Having enjoyed a near monopoly for decades, the hotel has faced increasing competition in recent years, with the opening of a Premier Inn Premier Inn close to the town’s St Nicholas centre in 2019, followed by the dual-branded ibis London Sutton Point and Aparthotel Adagio London Sutton Point in 2021.
