COMO Hotels and Resorts is set to launch its first hotel in its home country of Singapore this autumn.
COMO Metropolitan Singapore will open in phases from September and occupy 11 floors of the 19-floor mixed-use COMO Orchard building, located at 30 Bideford Road. The hotel will be the first of the spaces in the building to launch and will include 156 rooms and suites, along with a rooftop pool bar for guests.
The building will also house three dining venues, including the international debut of the Michelin-starred steakhouse COTE by restaurateur Simon Kim. All-day fare will be served at COMO Cuisine, and French pastry chef Cédric Grolet will also make his debut in Asia with a pastry shop on the first floor.
Two floors will be dedicated to fashion retail curated by the multi-label boutique Club 21, with personal shoppers on-hand and the option to deliver purchases directly to guests’ hotel wardrobes. On the leisure side, the building will also include an 836 sqm wellness facility under the COMO Shambhala brand on the fourth floor, offering luxury spa treatments, fitness classes and workshops, as well as nutrition diagnostics.
The hotel group has partnered with Italian architect Paola Navone of Otto Studio, Japanese interior design consultant Koichiro Ikebuchi of Atelier Ikebuchi, American-Thai interior designer Preeti Sriratana of Models Novus, and Norwegian digital artist Thomas Hilland for the project.
The COMO Group currently operates 16 hotels in locations including Bali, Turks and Caicos, Bangkok, the Maldives and Perth (Australia). Earlier this year the group opened its first hotel in France – COMO Le Montrachet in Burgundy.
