Emirates has announced a number of customer experience initiatives for this summer, including inflight mocktails, fresh strawberries and free ice cream.
Customers travelling through Dubai International in the coming weeks will be able to visit one of six ice cream carts in the airport’s departure areas, where they can choose from flavours including vanilla, Arabic coffee and dates, and mango sorbet.
The carts will be open from Friday to Sunday between June 23 and July 16.
All passengers travelling to or from the UK during July will be offered inflight strawberries, which the carrier says have been “grown in perfect conditions in Bustanica vertical farm in Dubai, without any pesticides or herbicides”.
First class customers will also be served strawberry tarts with compote, or rhubarb and strawberry charlotte served with whipped cashew cream and custard, while business class passengers will be offered white chocolate cheesecake served with strawberry basil confit or strawberry éclair – a choux pastry filled with crème anglaise, topped with fresh seasonal strawberries.
Premium economy customers will be able to sample either the éclairs or a strawberry panna cotta, and economy passengers will be served strawberry cheesecake topped with crumble or fresh strawberries with vanilla whipped cream and hazelnut streusel.
Meanwhile guests in Emirates lounges will be offered strawberry and basil gin fizz, as well as strawberries and clotted cream with almond butter crumble.
Premium passengers travelling to or from Italy will be served a burrata and fennel salad with grapefruit and orange segments, garnished with a tapioca crisp, and mocktails including Tropical Twist, Rose Iced Tea, Citrus Twist, Raspberry Spice and Mint Lemonade will feature on all flights in July and August.
Emirates also highlighted new releases available through its IFE system over the summer period, including Avatar: The Way of the Water, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
