Istanbul-based flag carrier Turkish Airlines, a member of Star Alliance, and Vietnam Airlines, a member of SkyTeam, have signed a codeshare agreement for flights between the two countries and domestic connections.

Turkish Airlines will add its “TK” code to Vietnam Airlines operated flights between Hanoi – Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang.

Similarly, Vietnam Airlines will place its “VN” code on Istanbul – Hanoi and Istanbul – Ho Chi Minh flights operated by Turkish Airlines.

The Star Alliance member operates its newest long-haul aircraft on the two Vietnam routes – the Airbus A350-900 and the Boeing 787-9, both with 1-2-1 flatbed seating in the premium cabin.

“The codeshare agreement between two airlines will bring more options and attractive benefits to passengers, as well as contribute greatly to route network expansion and service diversification of Vietnam Airlines and Turkish Airlines. The cooperation will promote economic, cultural and tourism exchanges between Vietnam and Türkiye, as more passengers will be able to visit the two countries conveniently,” commented Vietnam Airlines CEO, Le Hong Ha.

Vietnam Airlines currently flies to London’s Heathrow, Frankfurt and Paris in Europe, as well as to Sydney and Melbourne in Australia, with all destinations served also by A350 and 787 aircraft.
