IHG Hotels and Resorts has reopened the InterContinental Bangkok after a year-long, multimillion-dollar renovation project.
The property closed for refurbishment in May 2022, and has now officially reopened with all 381 guestrooms having been renovated, as well as a reimagined rooftop pool with views of the city, and interior design featuring “artistic nods to the beauty of Bangkok’s magnificent palaces and cultural attractions as well as the city’s famous skyline”.
There is also a new California-inspired restaurant SoCal, offering “over 50 California wine selections as well as a cuisine and mixology with a variety of fresh flavours, sustainable seasonal produce”.
Other F&B options include all day dining restaurant Espresso with live cooking stations inspired by the street markets of Bangkok, Fireplace Grill and Bar, and Summer Palace for Cantonese cuisine.
The hotel also features a spa, fitness centre, and 19 events spaces including the Grand Ballroom which can accommodate up to 1,000 guests.
InterContinental Bangkok is located in the city’s Central Business District, next to the BTS Chidlom Skytrain. The hotel opened in 2004 following the rebranding of the Le Royal Meridien Bangkok – the adjacent Le Meridien President Bangkok was also reflagged under IHG’s Holiday Inn brand in 2005.
