Wizz Air has announced plans to launch four routes from London to Turkey.

The low-cost carrier will operate daily flights from both Gatwick and Luton to Istanbul airport from March 28, 2023.

Wizz will join Turkish Airlines on the Gatwick-Istanbul route, while Luton-Istanbul is currently unserved.

In addition the airline will offer four-times-weekly (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) flights between Gatwick and Antalya starting from March 26, followed by four flights per week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday) between Gatwick and Dalaman starting from May 23.

The Gatwick-Antalya route will operate year-round, while the Gatwick-Dalaman service will be summer seasonal.

The news follows the recent launch of Wizz Air flights from Gatwick and Luton to cities in Poland, France and Italy.

But last week it was announced that the carrier would be withdrawing from Cardiff airport, with remaining services to Bucharest and Milan ceasing on January 25.

Commenting on the news Marion Geoffroy, managing director of Wizz Air UK, said:

“We are delighted to announce four new routes connecting passengers between London and Türkiye. With breath-taking scenery, fascinating history and incredible architecture, the country offers something for every type of traveller.

“These routes reflect our commitment to bringing improved connectivity, affordable fares, and more choice to our customers in the UK, particularly as we expand our network further East. We look forward to welcoming customers onboard our young, efficient, and sustainable aircraft.”
