Thai Airways has said that it will launch direct flights between Bangkok and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia starting next month.

Starting August 19, the airline will operate four weekly flights from Bangkok to Jeddah every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Flight TG 503 will depart from Bangkok at 6.45pm and arrive in Jeddah at 10.40pm.

Flight TG 504 will meanwhile depart from Jeddah at 12.40am and arrive in Bangkok at 1.10pm.

At the time of announcing the new flights, the airline added that from August 19 until December 31, 2022, it will allow 40kg of baggage allowance for Royal Silk passengers and a 35kg allowance for economy passengers.

Also, Royal Orchid Plus members who travel on this route will earn 1,000 miles per flight for Royal Silk class and 500 miles per flight for economy class.

Passengers on this route can also avail options from the HAL-Q certified inflight menu, as well as options of Thai signature Black Silk Blend drip coffee, and KanVela chocolate in Royal Silk class.

Additionally, Thai Royal Orchid Holidays has developed exclusive tour packages for Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, and other countries within the Middle East.

The latest flight announcement marks the first commercial services to Saudi Arabia by the carrier in 32 years. However, Thai Airways has continually operated special Hajj pilgrimage flights to Makkah and Madinah.

Nond Kalinta, chief commercial officer for the airline added that the new route launch “has high potential as it serves pilgrims, workers and tourists especially for those traveling from Southeast Asia to the Middle East.”
