IHG Hotels and Resorts has debuted its new Vignette Collection in Europe, with a landmark multi-property deal.
The hotel group has partnered with JJW Hotels and Resorts to sign the Penina Resort and Golf, and Dona Filipa Hotel in Portugal and the Grand Hotel Wien, Vienna in Austria. The three hotels are set to undergo refurbishments before reopening as part of the Vignette Collection in 2022.
Penina Resort and Golf is located in the Algarve and features 188 rooms, meeting and banqueting space, four restaurants, two bars and 380 acres with three golf courses. The hotel was built in 1966 alongside the Penina Golf Course, which has hosted the Portuguese Open several times.
Dona Filipa Hotel is also located in the Algarve and features 154 rooms, two restaurants and two bars, a spa, pool, tennis court, beach club and kids club, and meeting spaces.
Grand Hotel Wien first opened in 1870, and now offers 205 rooms, 11 meeting rooms, a ballroom, four restaurants, a bar and lounge, and a spa.
The agreement with JJW Hotels and Resorts also includes a new property for the group’s Voco brand on the Algarve’s Ancao Beach. It will be a refurbishment and conversion of the Formosa Park Apartment and is due to open early next year with 61 one- and two-bedroom apartments, a restaurant and bar.
The Vignette Collection was introduced in August and marked the 17th brand in the group’s portfolio. It recently launched its first property in Brisbane, Australia.
