IHG Hotels and Resorts has opened its first hotel under its new Vignette Collection, with a property located in Australia’s Brisbane.

The hotel group launched the collection as part of its Luxury and Lifestyle section in August. The properties included will be in “sought-after urban and resort locations” and offer “one-of-a-kind stays, with each hotel serving up a distinct service style and character”.

Hotel X Brisbane Fortitude Valley is a five-star hotel which features 146 rooms and suites, a rooftop swimming pool and three meeting spaces, including an open terrace overlooking Brunswick Street.

Dining venues include Mediterranean rooftop bar and restaurant Iris, and French bistro Bisou Bisou. The hotel will also serve cocktails with a DJ set from 3pm on Fridays.

The hotel has partnered with a local school to support the next generation wishing to pursue careers in hospitality, and will provide on-the-job learning opportunities.

Daniel Moran, General Manager at Hotel X, said:

“With its distinctive design and premium facilities, Hotel X celebrates this iconic Brisbane neighbourhood through ultra-cool art, Avant Garde lighting and showstopping design.

“When the hotel opened nearly 1 year ago, we felt that it had such a distinctive blend of luxury and extravagant interior design with an ‘X’ factor that could not quite be defined. When Vignette was born in August this year, we agreed that there was no better fit than a brand that celebrates the individuality of our luxury hotel in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.”

Will Yell, Vice President, Luxury and Upscale Conversion and Affiliate Brands, IHG Hotels and Resorts, added:

“Luxury travellers have always placed a high value on experiences. The forced pause in travel has given more people the opportunity to re-evaluate their travel priorities and we expect travel choices to be more considered with luxury guests seeking more customised experiences and personal enrichment with community engagement and sustainability at the heart.

“Luxury meets purpose at Vignette Collection hotels and an integral part of creating an authentic guest experience is the opportunity to engage with the local community in a positive way.”
