Marriott opens 70th hotel in Japan

Marriott has announced the opening of its 70th property in Japan — Aloft Osaka Dojima.

The property is located in Osaka’s Kita neighbourhood. Some close-by attractions include the Umeda Sky Building and the National Museum of Art, Osaka.

The opening sees Marriott reach 70 properties across 18 brands in 21 prefectures including Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, as well as Tochigi, Gifu and Wakayama. Marriott has an additional 30 hotels in the pipeline (signed and being developed), including three hotels expected to open later this year in the region.

Aloft Osaka Dojima has a range of room options, including loft queen, loft twin, deluxe loft queen, and loft suite, this last category having a living room, walk-in closet, standing rainfall showers and bathtub, and plush furnishing.

Bar and restaurant options include RE: FUEL by Aloft, Re:mix Lounge and W XYZ Bar and all-day dining The Warehouse.

Commenting on the opening, Rajeev Menon, president, Marriott International Asia-Pacific (excluding Greater China) said:
