The new Kempinski Palace Engelberg will open its doors on June 25, 2021. The property boasts being “the first international five-star-superior hotel in the largest winter and summer holiday destination in Central Switzerland”.

The hotel is located in the center of the village, right next to the spa gardens and only a few minutes’ walk from the railway station. The famous Engelberg monastery and the funiculars are a 10-minute walk away.

The hotel features 129 spacious rooms and suites, adorning light colors and materials, such as brushed oak and sumptuous leather in warm shades of brown. The subtle hues of green and blue exude a feeling of fresh mountain air. The amalgamation of historical details, contemporary furnishings, such as box-spring beds from the Swiss manufacturer “Elite”, and the stunning views of the mountains, makes this an ideal abode for leisure travellers.

The Cattani Restaurant highlights the flair for elegant European style and a service infused with local culture. The menu features seasonal produce from local producers, carefully prepared by executive chef Michéle Müller. Other F&B offerings include The Palace Bar and the Cigar Lounge to unwind with friends and family.

Located directly adjacent to the lobby lies the bright “Wintergarden” with its own terrace. It is an ideal place for the traditional afternoon tea – a signature service of the hotel.

De-stress with a wellness treatment at Kempinski The Spa. An infinity pool with spacious lounging areas, a relaxation room with an open Himalayan salt-stone fireplace and carefully selected treatments ensure a relaxing time.

Nine conference rooms, well-equipped with high-tech amenities, are available with plenty of natural light, covering an area of around 850 sqm. With the newly renovated historic Kursaal (managed by Kursaal AG Engelberg), it is possible to hold events with up to 1,000 guests.

Andreas Magnus, general manager of the new palace said:

“Luxury hospitality is about people and their talent for creating warm and sophisticated environments for guests to enjoy.

“It requires specialist knowledge, artistry, and skill and above all, it demands constant attention to detail. Each guest is an individual who expects their stay to be tailored to their needs and wishes. Our team of authentic individuals, educated to entertain and dedicated to please, is more than ready to open that new chapter of luxury here in the Swiss Alps of Engelberg.”
