As per the new guidelines issued by the Airports Authority of India, all passengers arriving in Goa may have to undergo 14 days of home quarantine or they can opt for a 14-day paid institutional quarantine.

Institutional quarantine is mandatory for symptomatic passengers until the test result is out.

Travellers can seek exemption from home quarantine if they are able to show a negative Covid-19 certificate issued by an ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) recognised lab, not older than 48 hours prior to the arrival in Goa.

Another option is that they take a swab test upon arrival at a cost of ₹2,000, and agree to remain in paid institutional/home quarantine until the result is available.

Pre-booking of accommodation (hotels registered with Department of tourism) is mandatory. Proof of pre-booking for the entire duration of stay will be checked at the entry points. The concerned authorities will check (a) if the booking was made with any registered accommodation unit with the department of tourism and is permitted to operate and (b) validity of booking for the entire duration of stay.

In case the tourist wishes to change his/her original booking during their period of stay in Goa, they can do so only through permitted accommodation units. The tourist needs to show the proof of re-booking, if any, to the rapid response leader of the accommodation unit before shifting from original accommodation.

All tourists will have to undergo basic screening at the entry point. Any tourist showing sickness or Covid-19 related symptoms upon arrival need to take the test at a designated centre/hospitals at their own cost.

Tourists need to fill a self-declaration form in the format provided at the accommodation for the purpose of contact tracing (if necessary).
