British Airways has revealed the temporary adjustments it is making to its on board catering while it works for “a more permanent solution with its catering suppliers”.

The aim is to minimise interactions between customers and crew, according to the airline.

As a result, everything comes in a box.

Customers travelling to a long haul destination will be offered pre-prepared meal boxes with a salad, hot entrée or sandwich, served with a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

This is a Club World (business class) meal box.

Also in long haul, this is two examples of World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) and World Traveller (Economy).

Customers travelling to a short haul destination in the business class cabin, Club Europe, will be offered a pre-prepared meal, such as salad or sandwich with a selection of beverages.

Those flying economy (Euro Traveller), will get a complimentary snack and a bottle of water.

At the moment it is not clear whether there will be any special request meals available.

Note that these changes start from June 16, 2020.

We will update this piece as more details become available.
