Emirates is revamping its summer menu to include seasonal delights. The special menu will be available on select routes, and will incorporate flavours from the summer harvest — strawberries and cream paired in eton mess for the UK routes and alphonso mango in kheer (pudding) and layered cakes for flights to India.

From July, first and business class passengers travelling to the UK and Ireland can sample strawberry special-treats including strawberry éclairs, strawberry cream delice and a deconstructed mille-feuille with poached strawberries along with white chocolate cream, pastry crisps and basil tuille.

Likewise, the first and business class customers travelling to India in July will be served an alphonso mango layer cake while economy class customers will enjoy an alphonso mango and sago kheer.

As for first and business class passengers travelling to and from Italy in August, an appetiser of the season’s heirloom tomatoes paired with freshly made burrata, an Italian cheese made from mozzarella and cream is in store.

Emirates is known for launching special menus round the year — last month, the Dubai-based carrier introduced meals around delicacies like white asparagus on flights to Germany, Amsterdam and France, aligning with the European harvest season, while in April Hanami-inspired menus were available on flights to Japan.
